How It Works

The people behind The Worcester Plinth are not-for-profit Jigsaw Community Festivals – www.jigsawcommunityfestivals.org.uk , which has provided music and arts festivals across Worcestershire since 2009. Jigsaw is led by Worcester resident Oliver Carpenter, who walked past The Screenhouse for years and thought ‘somebody should do something with that’.

……. and now we are!

His five strong team of volunteers and an increasing number of partners, brings together the property’s owner, with the artistic, technical and commercial communities of the City in an exciting endeavour.

We have two kinds of installations planned Art@ and Community@. Art@ is work produced by local and national artists and is ‘art for arts sake’, pieces of artwork to make us think, smile, wonder and question. Community@ work is installations on behalf of interesting local organisation that have something to say.

The combination of the two enables us to both represent what is happening in our city and produce new and interesting art for our residents and visitors to look at on the riverside.
